Nathan Eovaldi - Struggles against SeattleEovaldi (3-2) picked up the loss Saturday against Seattle, giving up five runs (four earned) in five innings, striking out three while walking one and allowing seven hits.
ImpactThe Mariners jumped on Eovaldi early and often. Four runners reached base in the first inning on three singles and a hit by pitch, with Eovaldi lucky to escape with just one run on the board. He gave up three more in the second thanks for a Kyle Seager triple and a wild pitch, with one more run scoring on an error in the fifth. Eovaldi's first four outings were strong enough that he still owns a 3.77 ERA on the year.

Chris Flexen - Cruises to second winFlexen improved to 2-1 on the season Saturday against the Red Sox, striking out seven in seven innings while allowing just one run on four hits and a walk.
ImpactFlexen held the hosts scoreless for 6.2 innings before allowing an RBI single to Marwin Gonzalez. The 26-year-old's time in Korea last year appears to have served him very well, as his 2.74 ERA and 21:5 K:BB through his first four starts this season look nothing like his 8.07 ERA and 49:54 K:BB from his first three partial seasons with the Mets.
