News: James and Chris Bosh have received a night off as the Miami Heat prepare for the playoffs. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said both would sit out Monday's game against the Washington Wizards. News: James (rest) is out Monday against the Wizards, Ira Winderman of the SunSentinel reports. Impact: At just a half-game back in the race for the first overall seed in the east, it is a bit surprising that the Heat are sitting James. Evidently, going into the playoffs healthy and rested are more important than getting that top seed. Even without James, it is possible that teammate Dwayne Wade (hamstring) will play and be enough to push the Heat to another victory.(RotoWire, )

News: James (rest) is a candidate to take a seat Monday night against the Wizards, Joe Goodman of the Miami Herald reports. Impact: James has played 35 minutes or more in each of the Heat's past six games, and will likely take a seat along with Chris Bosh Monday night. Although the Heat remain in contention for the east's top seed, they appear to have placed going into the playoffs well-rested as a higher priority. Shane Battier would be the most likely candidate to start in his place.(RotoWire, )

News: James scored 36 points (11-20 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 12-13 FT) with six boards in 35 minutes in the win over the Pacers on Friday. Impact: It looks as if the Heat and Pacers will tussle for the top spot in the Eastern Conference until the end of the season, which means James may continue to play big minutes. He has hit 56.2 percent of his field goals over his last five games with 34.8 points. While Kevin Durant may win the MVP this season, James has been plugging along impressively.(RotoWire, )
